Indianapolis Colts Expected to Sign Reigning Comeback Player of the Year
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are staking their claim in this free agency cycle. While the Colts are expecting to get rookie QB Anthony Richardson back next season, it appears that they want some insurance if he gets hurt again. Now, they have the reigning Comeback Player of the Year to give the Colts just that.

Indianapolis Colts Expected to Sign Joe Flacco

According to multiple insiders from the NFL Network, Joe Flacco and the Indianapolis Colts have appeared to reach an agreement. At the time of writing, details of this contract have not yet been revealed. However, it will likely be for one season.

What Joe Flacco Brings to the Colts

Flacco offers a veteran presence who has shown he can still play football at a high level. After signing with the Browns in the middle of the 2023 NFL season, Flacco is arguably a big reason why the Browns made the playoffs. So, what did he do last season?

In five regular season games last season, Flacco had a 4-1 record. In those five games, he had 1,616 passing yards and 13 touchdown passes. Now, Flacco looks to offer insurance for the Colts in case Richardson gets hurt again or does not perform as expected.
