The Indianapolis Colts just won an incredible game against the Arizona Cardinals in what was a slobber knocker! It was a very concerning game for the Colts secondary which let the Cardinals back ups move the rock up and down the field! The defense did step up and hold the Cardinals on fourth and goal to help win the game. There is a lot to unpack so let’s dive into the stats of the game.

Colts Offense Wins The Game Again

The offensive line really is special for Indianapolis and so is the running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor had an incredible day on the ground with 21 carries for 123 with a touchdown.

It would quarterback Daniel Jones with a huge day as well he was 22-of-30 for 212 yards and responsible for three touchdowns. It would be rookie tight end Tyler Warren who led the team in receiving with six receptions for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Colts Defense Struggles Against Cards Offense

The defense really has had a string of bad luck with number one cornerback Charvarius Ward getting injured in pre-game warm ups and Kenny Moore not yet healed from an Achilles injury.

It just really has showed up on the scoreboard lately with receivers getting open down field to setup scores for the opposing offense. I’m not saying that the cap space moves last week mean anything then but maybe how bad the Colts secondary performed against backups there might be a trade to help before the deadline.

The defense for Indy has also got to get more consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback. Jacoby Brissett had to much time to pick apart the secondary at times. It will be very interesting to see what Chris Ballard and the front office do in the coming week.

Final Thoughts

The Colts are currently the best team in the AFC at 5-1. If anything today shows the NFL that this team can win in many ways. They have scored 30 or more points in all of their games except one the loss to the Rams.
