The Indianapolis Colts had few complaints during their dominant 40-6 Week 5 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The days that followed, however, would reveal some issues due to the injuries. The team had to replace kicker Spencer Shrader, who suffered a season-ending injury, and subsequently signed Michael Badgley . They also had to place LB Joe Bachie, who had operated as a starter to begin the year, on IR.
Bachie will now be forced to miss the next four games at least as he recovers from a foot injury. To make things worse for him, he also got some rough news from the league ahead of Week 6. The NFL announced that they have fined Bachie for an illegal act he committed during the Colts' Week 5 win.

During the second quarter, Bachie was out in the open field looking to tackle Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty. He was blocked out of position, which led him to attempt something unorthodox in an effort to make a play. He extended his leg and was flagged for tripping on the play, but the NFL didn't think the flag was enough for this offense by Bachie.
The NFL is fining the Colts LB $6,500 for what the league is calling "unnecessary roughness." The league handed out 13 fines in total from the Week 5 slate. Bachie's comes in as the sixth cheapest, but still, this wasn't the type of news he wanted to hear after already being placed on the IR this week.
The Colts also essentially replaced Bachie in the starting lineup this week by signing veteran LB Germaine Pratt . Pratt was expected to be the team's new starter with or without Bachie's injury. The Colts have not received good enough play from their LB position, aside from Zaire Franklin. Pratt should be a solid upgrade, and as long as he stays healthy, he will likely take over Bachie's starting spot for the rest of the season.
