Insider: Bengals as 'dangerous as anybody' with MVP candidate

The Bengals (10-4), winners of six straight games, are on a roll reminiscent of their run to the Super Bowl last season. Is Cincinnati the NFL's best team?

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero believes the Bengals have a good case.

"Once again, this team is improving as the season goes on," Pelissero told Bengals sportscaster Dan Hoard. "They look as dangerous as anybody right now."

The Bengals are getting healthier, and their defense is starting to return to its 2021 form.

"That defense just continues to play better and better. That might be the biggest thing," Pelissero said. "The fact that they continue to find ways. They're so good in terms of halftime adjustments."

And, of course, the most important piece of all is QB Joe Burrow, who is playing as well as any quarterback in the league.

"Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's an MVP candidate," Pelissero said.

Cincinnati isn't as good as the Philadelphia Eagles (13-1), but they are in the conversation as the AFC's best team.

In Week 17, the Bengals will get a shot at the Bills in what could be a showdown for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

If Cincinnati stays on a roll, it might get a shot at the Eagles, too.
