Is Bo Nix Really the Broncos Franchise QB?

Is Bo Nix Really the Broncos Franchise QB?

On Thursday Night Football, the Denver Broncos are taking on the Seattle Seahawks. Going into this game, all eyes are on Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Nix led the Broncos all the way to the AFC Championship Game last season.

The Broncos had a strong postseason last year. Since the start of the 2026 regular season, the Broncos have been struggling. They’re currently 3-2, losing in week one against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, then again in week four against the San Francisco 49ers, who are also undefeated. They’re second in their division, behind the Chiefs.

Bo Nix, The Franchise Quarterback?

The question on everyone’s mind is if Nix can be a franchise quarterback. Sean Payton is the same person who thought Taysom Hill could be a franchise quarterback when Payton was still with the New Orleans Saints. Hill is a good football player and was key to the Saints’ success this year, when he wasn’t in the QB1 position. he wasn’t a terrible quarterback if you wanted the ball to be run in. Payton hasn’t been able to find a franchise quarterback since he signed Drew Brees to the Saints in 2006.  This is a new team with potential. It’s just a matter of time to see if Payton was right about Nix.

Can Bo Nix be the guy to lead the Broncos to another postseason, and hopefully a Super Bowl? We’re not even halfway through the regular season. After the Broncos game against the Los Angeles Chargers in week five, doubts are starting to come in about whether Nix will be the face of the franchise. The blame can’t go to just Nix. During the offseason, Broncos head coach Sean Payton gave the play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Davis Webb. During the game against the Chargers, the Broncos were down. Payton took the duties back, helping lead the Broncos to a 23- 17 win. Going into Week 6, how will this change affect Bo Nix and the Broncos against the Seahawks?  Payton told the media that he spoke to Nix heading into week six, saying, “Let it rip.” Coming off a loss this past weekend against the currently undefeated 49ers, the reigning Super Bowl champions are looking to bounce back this week. Will Nix and the Broncos be able to respond and hold the Seahawks back?
