Is Chiefs' Andy Reid Making Mistake With Patrick Mahomes In Final Preseason Game?

The Kansas City Chiefs have one preseason game left to navigate before Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, with the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears the last chance for players to prove their worth.

Given that head coach Andy Reid has given a decent number of snaps to his starting unit, many were unsure if he would continue along that form line, given that Week 1 is just around the corner.

But speaking to the media, Reid confirmed the starters will begin the contest against the Bears on Friday.

"I'm just going to play it by ear, they're going to start, they're going to start it off, and then we'll see how it goes from there," Reid said.

That isn't really a shock for the Chiefs, with Patrick Mahomes and Co. getting regular work in the previous two preseason outings, but that doesn't mean some critics view it as anything less than a mistake, given the risk/reward.

Meanwhile, there is one player who Chiefs Kingdom is eager to see, and that is receiver Marquise Brown.

A foot injury has seen the speed merchant miss parts of the offseason, which, considering how last offseason played out, isn't ideal, but he appears to be trending along the right way with the regular season approaching.

But will "Hollywood" suit up against the Bears?

"This is day by day right there, want no steps backwards on it," Reid said.

So, the starters will get some reps against the Bears, but how much remains to be seen, as the Chiefs gear up for their 2025 revenge tour.
