Is Joey Bosa's Bills Career On The Line In 2025?

The 2025 season could be seen as a defining one for Buffalo Bills' Joey Bosa.

Signing a one-year deal, and coming off another injury-interrupted season, the former first-round pick and five-time Pro Bowler has had a hard time of it of late.

Having not played a full season since 2021, Bosa also hasn't had more than 6.5 sacks in a year since then either, which sees his production declining despite being named to the Pro Bowl last season.

Now he comes to Buffalo with Sean McDermott dialing up the defense, and he has other weapons in Greg Rousseau, Michael Hoecht, Larry Ogunjobi, and A.J. Epenesa, so he won't be the focal point.

Which might be the best thing for Bosa, who according to Bleacher Report, is one player who is entering the season with his career on the line.

"The third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Bosa topped 10 sacks in three of his first four seasons, making the Pro Bowl three times," Bleacher Report writes. Bosa’s 10th season may be the most important of his career. It’s not so much a matter of money—Bosa has plenty of that. It’s a matter of his legacy as a player—whether he goes down as a borderline Hall of Famer or a 'What If?' player."

"Never mind that helping the Bills win a Super Bowl would immortalize him in Western New York."

Having burst onto the scene, Bosa over the past couple of years has failed to be a consistent player, largely due to him being in the treatment room.

Now with a fresh outlook and team, maybe this is the change Bosa needed to get back to being the menacing quarterback hunter he was earlier in his career.

No doubt he'll get chances with the Bills having a solid group of pass rushers, so it is up to him to make the most of it.

And his career might just depend on it, too.
