The Jacksonville Jaguars made the bold decision to trade a king’s ransom to the Cleveland Browns for the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft back in April.
They used the pick to select generational wide receiver and cornerback prospect Travis Hunter, a move that could come back to bite them if he never pans out.
The Jaguars are doing their best to figure out the correct balance between offensive and defensive snaps for Hunter, but it hasn’t worked out well so far.
He has less than 300 receiving yards on the season, but some would suggest that quarterback Trevor Lawrence is more responsible for his lack of production.
However, Hunter had made some significant progress recently, with over 60 receiving yards in two out of his last three games.
Unfortunately, the consistency he was starting to show will be put on pause for at least a month after Jacksonville placed him on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Nobody could ever replace his two-way talent, but the Jaguars signed wide receiver Austin Trammell to the active roster to try and fill the void Hunter will leave on the outside.
We have signed WR Austin Trammell to the active roster from the practice squad and placed WR/DB Travis Hunter and S Eric Murray on injured reserve.

Mainly a special teams player, Trammell only has six career catches, so it would be unrealistic to expect him to come right in and contribute.
However, he was also in Jacksonville last year, which could allow him to play a small role since he is somewhat familiar with the team.
The Jaguars are currently on a two-game losing streak and will look to get back on track today against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have been bad this year, but pulling out a win against them will still be a difficult feat without Hunter.
