Don't look now, but the Jacksonville Jaguars are the outright leaders in the AFC South after a 36-19 win over the slumping Indianapolis Colts, who have now lost three straight after winning seven of their first eight.
The Jaguars (9-4) have won their last four and they continue to be a force defensively. Jacksonville entered Week 14 tied for the third-most takeaways per game (1.7) before adding three more in Sunday's win.
The Colts' luck continued to worsen when quarterback Daniel Jones exited the game with an Achilles injury. On top of that, the Jaguars forced three turnovers and have completely flipped the script in a division that once looked like it was Indianapolis' to lose.
While the defense continues to be key to Jacksonville's success, running back Travis Etienne Jr. wasted no time getting started on Sunday with a pair of first-half TDs, including this 28-yard rush that extended the Jaguars lead to 21-7 early in the second quarter.

That was all part of a solid day for the Jaguars RB with 20 carries for 74 yards and two TDs, his second game with multiple TDs this season. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was 17-of-30 for 244 yards and two TDs, finding wide receiver Tim Patrick in the end zone for his second TD of the game.

The Jaguars took a 28-10 lead into the break and effectively put the game out of reach. For Indianapolis, its chances only diminished following the injury to Jones, which brought rookie Riley Leonard into the game.
It what was just his second appearance this season after going 0-of-2 against the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 26, Leonard was a solid 18-of-29 for 145 yards and one interception, but the Colts (8-5) struggled to establish any rhythm throughout the game.
That all culminated with a safety from Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen with just under seven minutes to play, capping off a dominant performance from Jacksonville and another disappointing outcome for a Colts team that is getting cold at the wrong time.
As unfortunate as the injury to Jones is for the Colts' playoff chances, the 11th consecutive home win against their rival has the Jaguars in a favorable spot with four games to play. A pair of home games against the New York Jets and Titans and a rematch against the Colts will give Jacksonville a shot at three more wins, while a road trip to face the Denver Broncos could be tricky, especially against the league's fourth-best defense (18.2 PPG).
An average of 8.7 penalties per game, which ranks last in the league, is concerning down the stretch, but if the defense holds up and Lawrence continues to limit his turnovers after throwing zero interceptions the last two games, the Jaguars are in a good position to win the AFC South and make some noise in the playoffs.
