Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs delivered a historic performance in Sunday’s 45-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals. However, his biggest goal goes beyond individual records.
Gibbs rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He added 56 receiving yards, finishing with 207 yards from scrimmage.
The performance also saw Gibbs surpass Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns by an NFL player before turning 25.

Despite the milestone, Gibbs remains focused on bringing a Super Bowl championship to Detroit. His ambition puts the team’s ultimate goal ahead of the personal achievements that continue to build his reputation.
Gibbs’ ability to contribute as both a runner and receiver makes him a major part of Detroit’s offense. His performance against Arizona showed how much damage he can create on the ground and through the passing game.
The victory moved Detroit to 3-2 heading into its Week 6 bye. The Lions will have time to regroup before returning to divisional action.
Gibbs’ latest milestone adds to an impressive start to his career. Still, individual records are not the finish line for the young running back.
Detroit faces the Green Bay Packers on October 25. The matchup will give the Lions another opportunity to build momentum after the break.
For Gibbs, the bigger objective remains clear: helping Detroit win a Super Bowl. His performance against Arizona delivered another personal milestone, but a championship is the prize he wants most.
