The Detroit Lions held on for a 23-20 win over divisional rival Chicago on Thursday at Ford Field as the Lions' defense secured a crucial stop with the Bears driving into Detroit territory.

The Lions' big win came amid a flurry of injuries on the defensive side of the football that were overcome by Aaron Glenn's unit in the late stages of the game.

Detroit outgained the Bears 405-301 on the day including 194-78 as their current running back duo of Jahymr Gibbs and David Montgomery outshined former Lion and Bears starter D'Andre Swift.

The game was noteworthy not just for the result but also for the fashion statement made by the two Lions rising stars.

Gibbs and Montgomery, nicknamed Sonic & Knuckles after the beloved Sega Genesis video game duo, rocked custom cleats modeled after the lightning fast hedgehog and burly echidna as they combined to rush for 175 yards on the ground.

Fans reacted excitedly in the comments section on X.

"BEST DUO IN THE NFL," one fan said.

"Future Super Bowl Champions," another added.

The Bears scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter but their failure to take a timeout late after a sack of Caleb Williams proved to be their downfall as Williams' desperation heave at the buzzer fell short.
