Jalen Carter just began the Eagles season in the worst way possible

While the trainers were checking on VanSumeren, Eagles star defensive tackle Jalen Carter was seen on camera spitting in the direction of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. That resulted in a personal foul penalty and an ejection from the game.

The result of that penalty had the Cowboys at their own 47-yard line. Dallas was able to drive right down the field and score a touchdown on a short touchdown run by Javonte Williams to put Dallas up 7-0.

Nightmare start to the Eagles' match with the Cowboys

The Eagles couldn't have asked for a worse start, as not only do they lose their short-yardage blocker, but they also lose their top defensive lineman in Carter. It's a crushing blow for a team that needed to get off to a fast start against a team that isn't better than him.

Carter's actions were inexcusable and one that Eagels fans have already expressed their dispelasuere on socail media. It's a rare mental mistake for a player who has been seen as one fhte new leaders on the team for the 2025 season.

Now, a young Eagles defense is going to have to go through the Cowboys game without their best defender. It could have bigger implications on the season if Carter faces a suspension.

Eagles fans have to hope that the NFL will just fine him and move forward with the season.
