Jalen Ramsey Linked to Falcons After Dolphins Seek Trade: Morris Connection

Raheem Morris and Jalen Ramsey built a strong professional relationship during their time with the Los Angeles Rams from 2021 to 2023.

Morris was the defensive coordinator, and Ramsey was a star cornerback. Under Morris’ coaching, Ramsey took on more roles in the secondary, including playing the special “star” position. Together, they helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI in 2022. Ramsey has spoken highly of Morris, calling him one of the best coaches in the NFL and giving him credit for helping him grow as a leader and improve his skills.

Now, after Ramsey and the Miami Dolphins mutually agreed to seek trade options, his connection with Morris could make Atlanta a strong landing spot. Ramsey is known as one of the top defensive backs in the league, with three All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl appearances. His physical play, versatility, and leadership have made a big impact, and he’s seen as a future Hall of Famer.

NFL Network’s Chief National Reporter and co-host of Game Day Preview , Steve Wyche, reflected on the close bond between Morris and Ramsey, while also hinting at Ramsey’s possible future role in the secondary. “Can’t stop thinking about how much Falcons HC (then Rams DC) Raheem Morris and Jalen Ramsey told me of their admiration for one another – and about a potential move to Safety for Ramsey as his career went on. While Ramsey has been linked to other teams, the Falcons seem like a perfect fit and a real possibility — especially with his strong relationship with head coach Morris and the mutual respect they’ve built over the years.
