Ja’Marr Chase Calls Out Cincinnati After Monday Incident
Sam Greene/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK

Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase proved his worth last season, achieving the rare receiving triple crown by leading the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708) and receiving touchdowns (17).

As a result, the Bengals rewarded him with a major contract extension this offseason. On March 18, he signed a four-year, $161 million deal with Cincinnati, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

Now, Chase is one day away from getting back on the field for mandatory minicamp with his team. As he gears up for his fifth season in the NFL, Monday brought an unexpected incident.

The 6-foot, 205-pound wideout owns a Mercedes-Maybach and took to social media to call out the city of Cincinnati after someone stole the hood ornament off of it.

"lol dam this what we on Cincy?" Chase posted.

Chase has the money to get a new hood ornament for his car, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was wrong for someone to steal it.

The 25-year-old remains focused on delivering Cincinnati its first Super Bowl in franchise history. The Bengals failed to make the playoffs last season, despite finishing on a five-game winning streak.

They dug themselves too big of a hole to overcome, starting the 2024 NFL season 0-3 and then falling to 4-8.

Chase was drafted No. 5 overall in the 2021 NFL draft by the Bengals, having played his college football for the LSU Tigers. He caught passes from Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow in college, too.
