Cleveland Browns pass rusher Jared Verse was the recipient of a fairly firm message from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Verse has been trash-talking the Steelers for much of the season. Most notably, he accused Pittsburgh’s offensive line of playing “dirty” after Cleveland’s 27-24 win in Week 4, a comment that did not go unheard in Pittsburgh.
Enter Steelers guard Mason McCormick, who outright body-slammed Verse to the ground on an extra point during Sunday’s game between the two teams.
Cam Heyward this week said that Jared Verse’ comments alluding to the Steelers being dirty players “will be addressed” Consider it addressed then https://t.co/QMo3697xBp

The fact that Verse was the one getting thrown to the ground probably isn’t a coincidence. McCormick was given a 15-yard penalty for the move, but the Steelers were probably willing to take the yardage in order to send a message.
Verse has been a tone-setter on defense for the Browns. He was the primary return in the Myles Garrett trade, though he is still looking for his first sack of the season entering play Sunday.
