Former NFL star Jason Kelce recently joined "The Steam Room" podcast with Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley following the conclusion of the NFL season.
During the show, the three discussed the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as life after football for Kelce.
Kelce retired from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Eagles, where he concluded his career as a six-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler.
After a legendary NFL career, Kelce joined ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" cast. In just one season, he transformed into one of the network's most popular analysts.
Barkley, who also made the move from player to media, questioned Kelce about the decision and asked his thoughts on what the former NBA player believes is "stealing money."
After laughing with Barkley, Kelce claimed that he does in fact view the position that way. He mentioned that he's getting paid more to talk about the sport he loves than to beat up his body between the white lines.
"Stealing money is a great way to describe it," Kelce said. "It's fun. It's a lot of fun. I get paid to just talk about something I love and to do it with a lot of like-minded people. I mean, it's crazy when you really think about it.
"I spent 13 years doing plays like the tush push and beating the [expletive] out of my body, and, I mean, even that I thought I was getting overpaid to do. I was getting overpaid to play a game that I did voluntarily as a child. I got to do that for 13 years in an incredible city. Now I get paid more money to just talk about it, which is insane to me."
Kelce is currently signed to a three-year, $24 million deal with ESPN, per Declan Walsh at 247Sports.
The former Eagles star also hosts a podcast with his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Their "New Heights" show has quickly become arguably one of the most well-known podcast in sports, especially within the football community over the past two years.
