New York Giants (1-4) quarterback Jaxson Dart exited Thursday’s Week 6 home contest against the Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) in the third quarter. Dart got banged up and stayed down on the ground after taking a sack.

He jogged over to the blue medical tent, where he was evaluated for a concussion. Dart was cleared, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He returned on New York’s next drive.

While Dart was under evaluation, Russell Wilson, who was benched for Dart after Week 3, came into the game to finish the drive. Giants fans inside MetLife Stadium booed loudly as Wilson had an incomplete pass on third down.

While that was happening, head coach Brian Daboll was apoplectic on the sideline. He wanted an update on Dart and at one point, he approached the blue medical tent. Running back Cam Skattebo was also seen walking into the medical tent to check on his quarterback.

Jaxson Dart has injury scare, returns vs. Eagles

“An athletic trainer had to push him out very kindly and send him back to the sideline,” Prime Video sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said. “Meanwhile, you’ve got the unaffiliated concussion specialist at the video monitor reviewing the footage of Jaxson’s hit. Jaxson, meanwhile, is inside the tent, peeking through the mesh windows trying to keep an eye on what’s going on in this game. I’m hearing a couple yells of encouragement to his teammates.”

Giants nation will breathe a heavy sigh of relief that Dart is back in the game. So will Daboll, who clearly wanted his rookie signal caller back under center.

There’s good reason for that, as Dart has been stellar against Philadelphia’s defense. Two drives after he got hurt, Dart and the Giants got into the end zone with a one-yard rushing score from Skattebo. New York has a commanding 34-17 lead late in the fourth quarter.
