Jaxson Dart's Interaction with Eli Manning at Giants Rookie Minicamp Draws Attention

The New York Giants were thrilled when they had the chance to trade back into the first round to select their quarterback of the future, Jaxson Dart, out of Ole Miss.

It was a fitting pick, as Dart hails from the same college that their legendary former quarterback, Eli Manning, attended before leading the Giants to two Super Bowl victories during his illustrious NFL career.

Dart was selected with the No. 25 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, following the team's selection of star edge rusher Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick.

Although Russell Wilson, who was signed during the offseason, is expected to be the starting quarterback for Week 1, Dart and Jameis Winston will serve as the primary backups. However, Dart is widely seen as the future of the Giants' quarterback position.

With rookie minicamp underway, Dart was on the practice field Saturday and had a notable interaction with Eli Manning, who was attending the team’s practice session.

Dart is currently set to wear No. 6 for the time being, though he has left the door open for a potential change once he "sees how it looks in pictures." This humorous remark was revealed during his first days within the organization.

During his time at Ole Miss, Dart spent three seasons with the program after transferring from USC following his freshman year. Last season, he threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while also rushing for 495 yards and three touchdowns.
