Jaylen Wright has Procedure; Dolphins Sign RB Jamycal Hasty
The Dolphins’ running back room is still in a state of flux as they try to navigate some injuries.
Mike McDaniel at his Thursday media session said that running back Jaylen Wright had a procedure, and the goal for his return to the field will be “Septemberish.”
Wright is going to miss multiple weeks.
He did say Wright’s injury isn’t season-ending.
To add another body to the running back room, Miami signed JaMycal Hasty to its practice squad.
Hasty played for McDaniel when they were both in San Francisco together a few years back.

Hasty will turn 29 in a few weeks and went undrafted in 2020.
He has played for the 49ers, Jaguars, and Patriots.
In 2024, for New England, he had 20 carries for 69 yards.
He did have 10 receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown.
For his career, he has 121 carries for 469 yards and four touchdowns rushing.
Miami also added Jeff Wilson to their practice squad yesterday.
Wilson has been with the Dolphins since the midseason point of the 2022 season.
He played in nine games for Miami in 2024.
As a member of the Dolphins, Wilson has played in 27 games, started 1, and has scored three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown.
McDaniel did state that starter De’Von Achane is expected to be ready to go in Week 1 of the regular season with his calf injury.
And it is expected (yet not confirmed) that rookie Ollie Gordon will be the backup, and I would expect Jeff Wilson to be Miami’s #3 running back for that game.
