The Ohio State Buckeyes held their final skill camp of the summer on Tuesday, and it turned into a special moment for the family of star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Smith, already one of the biggest names in college football, has quickly built a massive following. On Tuesday, his younger brother, Angelo Smith, was on campus working out as a safety — and he walked away with an offer from the Buckeyes.

Angelo Smith, a class of 2027 prospect, is currently ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 29 safety in his class by 247 Sports. Ohio State officially extended an offer on Tuesday, joining Miami and Toledo on his list of suitors.

Now that the Buckeyes have offered, expect Angelo’s recruitment to pick up steam as he heads into his junior season at Chaminade-Madonna (FL). The 5-foot-10, 170-pound safety posted 40 tackles and three interceptions as a sophomore last fall.

The Buckeyes have two commitments so far in the class of 2027 with five-star WR Jamier Browns and four-star QB Brady Edmunds. Ohio State has 15 commitments for the class of 2026 that is currently ranked No. 2 in the country by 247 Sports.

Ohio State still has two more seasons with Jeremiah Smith before he heads to the NFL. After a freshman season where he racked up over 1,300 receiving yards, all eyes will be on what he does in 2025. It’s possible that one Smith could be arriving in Columbus just as another one departs.
