Dallas Cowboys star defensive back Trevon Diggs had an unbelievable start to his NFL career when he first joined the team. He was taken in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Dallas.
After playing in 12 games his rookie year, the cornerback went to back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2021 and 2022, and he was a First Team All-Pro selection in 2021 after racking up 11 interceptions.
Since 2022, however, Diggs has been a shadow of his former self. He played in just two games in 2023 due to a torn ACL. He missed six more games last year and has made just six appearances in the 2025 season thus far.
Diggs' last time on the field was on Oct. 12 against the Carolina Panthers. Since then, the former Pro Bowl cornerback has sat out six consecutive games due to a concussion that he sustained during an at-home accident.
Combined with a knee injury that he has also been dealing with, Diggs was placed on injured reserve.
He was eligible to return on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was again ruled out. On Friday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones provided an update on Diggs' status.
"[Diggs] will be on the field in Detroit (next Thursday), in my view, (barring a setback)," Jones said, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota.

In the six games Diggs has played this season, he has totaled 18 tackles and one tackle-for-loss with no pass breakups or interceptions.
With Diggs on the sidelines, the Cowboys have been on a hot streak. Dallas has won three straight games, including back-to-back victories over the past two Super Bowl champions in the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs.
Despite their recent success, the Cowboys would love to have Diggs back on the field when they take on the Detroit Lions on Dec. 4 at Ford Field at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
