Jerry Jones Has Revealed His Contract Offer To Cowboys Star Micah Parsons

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn't afraid to share information about his contract negotiations with four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys selected Parsons with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The linebacker from Penn State has been outstanding for "America's Team," racking up 256 tackles, 112 QB hits, 52.5 sacks and nine forced fumbles. There's no question he's the most impactful player that Dallas has on defense.

Earlier this month, Parsons publicly requested a trade from the Cowboys. Although he claims he wants out of Dallas, it doesn't sound like the front office is ready to give him up. If anything, Jones is fighting to get an extension done.

During an interview with Cowboys legend Michael Irvin this week, Jones expressed his appreciation for Parsons.

"Nobody appreciates Micah Parsons more than the Cowboys or me," Jones said. "Nobody has ever offered him more money than I have to play football. Period."

How much money was Parsons offered?

Jones said there was a deal in place that would've made Parsons "the highest-paid guaranteed player other than a quarterback in the NFL."

Back in March, the Cleveland Browns gave All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett a contract extension that features $123.5 million in guaranteed money. That's the highest guarantee for a non-quarterback.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa ($119.9 million) and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase ($112 million) have large guarantees in their deals as well.

If Jones offered Parsons the richest deal for a non-quarterback, that means he'll take home at least $124 million in guaranteed money. That's a big commitment, make no mistake about it.

Jones claims Parsons' agent derailed negotiations.

The owner of the Cowboys said Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, derailed their negotiations.

"We had our agreements on term, amount, guarantees and everything. We were gonna send it over to the agent," Jones told Irvin. "The agent said, 'Don't bother because we've got all that to negotiate.' Well, I'd already negotiated that. I'd already moved off my mark on several areas. The issue, very frankly, is we've had the negotiation in my mind. The agent is trying to get his nose in it and trying to come in there and improve off what we've already said."

Parsons hasn't responded to these comments. He did, however, clear any mention of the Cowboys from his social media accounts.

We've seen the Cowboys work out extensions right before the start of the season. In our opinion, they'll get something done with Parsons prior to their Week 1 showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
