Jets Announce WR Move After Garrett Wilson News

The New York Jets have struggled during the first half of the 2026 NFL season. After a Week 8 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Jets have now lost three straight games and will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

While the Jets’ offense has shown flashes, they have struggled mightily to finish drives. New York is last in the NFL in red-zone scoring, converting just 46% of their red-zone possessions into touchdowns. The offensive struggles have made Garrett Wilson even more important to the team. Despite some up-and-down production, Wilson has remained the team’s most reliable receiving option through the first half of the season.

Through eight games this season, Wilson has 43 receptions for 527 yards and three touchdowns, and his 12.3 yards per reception is the highest since his rookie year in 2022.

Unfortunately, on the second-to-last play of the Raiders’ game on Sunday, Wilson was hit by safety Jeremy Chinn. When Wilson arrived at the Jets’ facility on Monday, he reportedly was suffering from concussion symptoms.

Now, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN, head coach Aaron Glenn announced that Wilson is in concussion protocol. With Wilson’s status for Sunday now in doubt, New York has already added another receiver to the organization.

The Jets announced that they signed wide receiver Joseph Manjack IV to the practice squad, giving the team additional depth at the position ahead of Week 9.

Manjack was an undrafted free agent out of TCU in 2026 and has yet to play in an NFL regular-season game. He is unlikely to step into a significant role in New York, but he gives the Jets some added depth while they monitor Wilson’s recovery.

If Wilson is unable to play Sunday, the Jets may have to lean more heavily on the run game while asking Adonai Mitchell to take on a larger role in the passing attack.
