Jets Announces Aaron Rodgers' Status For Remainder Of 2024 Season

The New York Jets won't be benching Aaron Rodgers anytime soon.

Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters on Wednesday that Rodgers is healthier than he has been over the last five or six weeks and will be the starter for the rest of the season as long as he stays healthy.

Ulbrich is committed to starting Rodgers for the rest of the season even though the Jets are 3-8 and only have six games left.

Those six games could be the final six of Rodgers's tenure with the Jets since there's no guarantee he will return to the franchise next year.

The Jets could look to move on since they're poised to continue their long playoff drought after coming into this season with high expectations. This season has already cost head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas their jobs since owner Woody Johnson isn't happy with the way things have gone down.

Rodgers will also have to see how he's feeling about next season once the offseason starts. He hasn't committed to playing next year and needs to see how he feels both mentally and physically.

The Jets will be back in action this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks after having their bye week this past week. After that game, they'll finish the season with games against the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Dolphins again.

Kickoff for this Sunday's Jets-Seahawks game will be at 1 p.m. ET.
