The New York Jets signed Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million deal earlier this offseason, so they will be wanting to give him the best chance to succeed that they possibly can.
In a recent article by PFF's Trevor Sikkema, he puts together the final mock draft before the real thing kicks off tonight. At No. 7, he has the Jets filling one of the holes on their offense and drafting Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.
"Back where it seemingly all began. Even if Armand Membou is still on the board — and Mason Graham is available, too — I believe Warren is the guy for the Jets’ new regime. He embodies the kind of football player they want in their building."
The current starting tight end for the Jets would be Jeremy Ruckert, so it is safe to say that the team would be happy upgrading the position through the 2025 NFL Draft.
Warren finished his final season at Penn State with 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns on 104 receptions, which led the Big Ten conference. He was also able to show his versatility in the run-game and contribute 218 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Field is looking to turn his career around in New York, and the team drafting a young tight end for him to have as a security blanket could give him the best chance at doing just that.
