Jets’ Breece Hall drops hilarious Minkah Fitzpatrick confession

The New York Jets swung an offseason trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick back in March. New York wanted to upgrade its secondary and believed Fitzpatrick could provide the impact they are looking for. However, for running back Breece Hall, this is a bit of a surreal experience.

Hall, 25, has played four seasons in the NFL. He has become a very solid running back and is likely to be the Jets’ starting ball carrier in Week 1, entering his fifth season. Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, is entering his ninth season in the NFL. This experience gap led to a hilarious confession from Hall on social media.

“I call him unc every day. I was in middle school like ‘damn I wonder what it’s like to play against Minkah Fitzpatrick,'” the Jets running back said, quoting a video of Fitzpatrick speaking at a press conference.

The clip shared by Hall consisted of Fitzpatrick speaking about the younger players. He mentioned that some of the newer players mentioned watching his highlight tape in elementary school. He also expressed his gratitude toward how the younger players approach him.

“It’s awesome. A lot of those dudes look up to me, and they really admired my game back in the day. They still do now. They pay a lot of respects to me, and I really appreciate the way they show love,” the Jets safety said in the clip Hall shared.

The Jets are hoping Fitzpatrick’s experience can help a defense that failed to record a single interception in 2025. New York begins its 2026 campaign on September 13 against Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans.
