Per Brendan Sugrue of the Bears Wire, a person close to Jets CB Nahshon Wright said he would welcome a trade back to the Bears.
Wright said he’s “definitely frustrated” about his role with the Jets this year, per ESPN’s Rich Cimini, and said he’s made his feelings known to the team without formally requesting a trade. Wright has played zero defensive snaps and 22 special teams snaps in three games so far.
The Bears could use depth in the secondary with Tyrique Stevenson and Malik Muhammad dealing with injuries.
Wright, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2021. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.8 million contract when the Cowboys traded him to the Vikings during training camp last year.
He was let go after camp and spent the season on the practice squad before re-signing on a futures deal after the season. He then signed a one-year deal with the Jets for 2026.
In 2026, Wright has appeared in three games for the Jets and recorded one tackle.
We’ll have more on Wright and the Bears as the news becomes available.
