Jets have several opportunities to win left on remaining schedule

The New York Jets are 0-6 at the open of Week 7, and they're also on the mend after arguably their most devastating defeat yet.

On Sunday, the Jets ended up falling 13-11 at the hands of the Broncos despite the best defensive effort against Denver all year and a couple of early leads for New York. Just when it seemed as if the Jets might finally pull off the upset and get a win on the board, everything fell apart and their luck ran out once again.

It's been the same story for Aaron Glenn's team — 2025 marks his first year as an NFL head coach — since the start of the regular season. In fact, the Jets have lost four out of the six games they've played so far by six points or less. Only the Bills and Cowboys have actually beaten the NFL's last remaining winless team in convincing fashion.

"Everybody wants to win, but no one wants to go through the hard stuff. That's what we're going through right now," said a still confident Glenn on Monday. "I have all the confidence in the world in this team. I'm not going to waver, not one bit."

Few predicted this Jets roster would contend this season, and even the most optimistic fan knew a new, inexperienced coach and quarterback likely meant some early growing pains. However, few probably also expected the Jets to be as competitive in as many games, which makes suffering close losses even more gut-wrenching.

The past is the past, and the Jets now have 11 more games in front of them to try to end the season strong. But before they can worry about building momentum, the Jets and Glenn need to earn that first win.

Can the Jets capture their first win of the season soon?

Let's now take a look at the rest of New York's schedule and try to determine when the Jets may finally secure a win.

It's actually possible the Jets win their next game. The 3-3 Carolina Panthers will travel to MetLife Stadium on Sunday. And while the Panthers have exceeded expectations so far, ESPN has only offered the Panthers a 52.8% win probability.

Carolina still has plenty of weaknesses on their roster. Second-year quarterback Bryce Young is also still developing and could make mistakes against the Jets' pass rush.

New York will then follow Week 7 with back-to-back battles with AFC North teams with serious quarterback concerns. Expect low scoring and a potential for the Jets to show more offensive chemistry against both the Bengals and Browns

Drake Maye and the Patriots should beat the Jets, but upsets do happen in that rivalry. If Lamar Jackson is still out come Week 11, the Ravens may no longer be motivated to even care about 2025.

The next quarter of the season features home games against the very beatable Falcons and Dolphins, as well as road trips to Jacksonville and New Orleans. The Jaguars currently look like the best of that bunch, but there are win possibilities in that stretch.

New York closes the season with consecutive games with Buffalo and New England, two better teams, but a situation that could lead to one or both resting players ahead of the playoffs. The Bills may prefer to sit Josh Allen by this point, with the division locked up.

So even though the Jets may appear snakebite right now, they do have a relatively "easy" schedule ahead the rest of the way, and it wouldn't be out of question for New York to close the year with several wins for Glenn.
