The New York Jets placed linebacker Kiko Mauigoa on injured reserve and signed linebacker Jaden Keller to the active roster Saturday as they prepare to face the Miami Dolphins. The team also elevated linebacker Troy Reeder and offensive lineman Brant Banks from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, the moves address several roster needs ahead of the Week 7 divisional matchup at MetLife Stadium. Mauigoa’s injury creates an opening at linebacker, while Keller’s promotion gives New York another option at the position.
The Jets enter the matchup with a 2-4 record, while Miami is 0-5. Both teams are looking for a win as they continue their AFC East campaigns.

They’re also elevating LB Troy Reeder and OL Brant Banks from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
Mauigoa sustained a quad injury during the Jets’ Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots. The second-year linebacker had already missed three games after suffering a separate quad injury against the Green Bay Packers earlier in the season.
Before the latest setback, Mauigoa had appeared in three games, contributing across 26 special teams plays. He has recorded 45 tackles in 15 career games, including eight starts, while also playing 329 defensive snaps and 230 special teams snaps.
Keller now gets another opportunity with the active roster after previously being elevated from the practice squad for games against the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Patriots. He joined the Jets in May after receiving an invitation to rookie minicamp and recorded 10 total tackles and a pass defensed during the preseason.
Reeder also returns to the active roster for Sunday’s matchup after spending time on the practice squad. The veteran linebacker has recorded 339 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles across 110 career games. He has appeared in four games for New York this season, recording four tackles while contributing on special teams.
Banks provides another option along the offensive line after being elevated from the practice squad. The lineman previously spent time with the Green Bay Packers, appearing in two games last season.
The Jets will host Miami on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. ET. With Mauigoa sidelined, Keller and Reeder will have opportunities to contribute at linebacker, while Banks adds depth up front for a team looking to improve its record against a divisional opponent.
