Jets Make Final Trade Decision With Breece Hall
© Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets have two potential starting running backs atop their depth chart, and they will reportedly use a three-man committee in the position.

That's why, with his contract situation, it didn't take long before fans and analysts alike speculated about Breece Hall's future with the organization. With that in mind, head coach Aaron Glenn had to clear the air on that matter and shut down the narrative once and for all.

Aaron Glenn Says The Jets Won't Trade Breece Hall

“We have like three good running backs, and I keep saying that,” Glenn told reporters. “Listen, they all have different skill sets that we’re gonna utilize. And that does not mean that I’m trading Breece. OK? Does not. So, I’m gonna say that right now. I just like having three good guys. Hell, I wish I had more. But we don’t.”

As things stand now, the Jets are listing Hall as the starter, with second-year pro Braelon Allen right behind him, and Isaiah Davis also expected to have a featured role on the offense.

Allen turned some heads as a rookie, piling up 334 yards and two touchdowns on 92 carries and having a bigger role towards the end of the season.

Hall took the league by storm as a second-round pick out of Iowa State. He was one of the leading candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year, piling up 463 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry before suffering a season-ending ACL injury.

He picked up things right where he left them in his second season, rushing for 994 yards and five scores and adding 591 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Last season, he had 1,359 total yards (876 rushing) and eight touchdowns.

Hall will make a base salary of $3.4 million in the final year of his rookie contract, so even though coach Glenn says he's not going anywhere, he will be a name to watch as we approach the trade deadline.
