New York Jets starting quarterback Zach Wilson exited Friday night's preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles with an apparent leg injury.
Wilson appeared to injure his right leg after scrambling away from pressure late in the first quarter. The second-year quarterback turned up field after leaving the pocket and attempted to juke past Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean before falling to the ground.

Wilson left the game with a noticeable limp, but the non-contact aspect of his injury has to be concerning for the Jets.
The Jets selected Wilson No. 2 overall in 2021. New York went just 3-10 under Wilson during his rookie campaign. Wilson finished the year throwing for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 starts.
If Wilson is out for an extended time, the Jets will turn to veteran Joe Flacco to take the reins under center.
Earlier this month, both Flacco and head coach Robert Saleh agreed that the Super Bowl XLVII MVP has the ability to start. They might get the opportunity to find out.
After the game, Saleh updated reporters on Wilson's condition, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:
#Jets coach Robert Saleh tells reporters that he has no update on the knee of QB Zach Wilson, though he adds that the ACL is “supposed to be intact.” He’ll wait for the MRI for full results.

Wilson is set to undergo an MRI on Saturday. Until then, the Jets faithful will continue to hold their collective breath.
