When Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went "Hollywood" last month in France, it turned some heads.
Burrow jumped out of his comfort zone and into a backless suit jacket for the Vogue World fashion show in Paris alongside former college teammate Justin Jefferson.
It's safe to say Jefferson wasn't the one flaming Burrow for his outfit in the group chat.
Burrow revealed on Pardon My Take that he felt the heat from his boys after walking the walk in his eccentric fit for the cameras.
"I've been roasted in just about every group chat I could possibly be roasted in," Burrow told PMT.
Not exactly the same reaction he got from X/Twitter, but hey, that's the boys for you.
Burrow said he didn't know what he'd be wearing for the event and that he learned when he arrived. There was no need to convince him putting it on, though.
"I did look cool, and I was fully prepared for all of the criticism and roasting," Burrow said. "I knew it was coming my way."
Whether it's sporting a completely unique fit amongst other celebrities, or making a return back to the podcast scene, Burrow has begun making an effort to open himself up to the world more often.
"That's something that I've struggled with for my entire career," Burrow said back in June. "I'm a pretty private person, and so I try to keep as much as I can to myself, but I'm starting to branch out a little bit and get a little more comfortable sharing other parts of my personality. So I'm just now starting to feel that process out, and this is really the first year that I felt comfortable sharing more sides of myself with the fans, I would say.
Sometimes the result is your closest friends roast you. It happens.
Burrow, who also talked about how the NFL should handle taunting and an 18-game schedule, is back to being locked in for the upcoming season after a couple weeks of leisure.
The only thing he has to worry about getting roasted for is his play on the field. Fortunately, that's a far more unlikely outcome.
