More arrests have been made in connection with the burglary at Joe Burrow’s residence in 2024.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was playing the Dallas Cowboys in an early-December Monday Night Football’ tilt when multiple individuals broke into his house.
Police caught four men with the QB’s memorabilia in their car in January, 2025. The FBI announced two arrests the following month.
According to WHIO.com, Argentinian authorities have arrested three more men linked to the crime.
The report names Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, Bastian Jimenez Freraut and Pablo Zuniga Cartes. It’s understood they are not the only persons of interest.
Reports at the time noted that Burrow was among several star athletes targeted by what was described as a sophisticated burglary ring. The group made marks of several pros, using their schedules to time the break-ins.
Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also hit in separate incidents.
In Burrow’s case, his house was not empty. Model Olivia Ponton was on the premises at the time.
Her presence blew the lid off a previously unknown romantic relationship, though police described her as an “employee.”
Burrow was not happy.
“My life is very public and that comes with the job,” he told reporters thereafter. “But there are certain parts of your life that are yours. Your house is one of those. When that gets violated, people find out where you live, all these different things. Not everybody’s failures at their job are in front of the whole world.”
Burrow and Ponton’s relationship is no secret now, and they have been spotted in public on several occasions. However, back then, the exposure came across as annoying to the Bengals star.
“That’s the only part I’m upset about,” he claimed. “All my business is out there. I got news vans camped out by the house. It sucks… The whole world knows where I live now. That hasn’t been very fun to deal with.”
Meanwhile, the latest suspects are in Chile, awaiting extradition to the United States.
Burrow’s case is due for a hearing on July 8 in Ohio’s Southern District.
