Joe Burrow changes look after ugly Week 1 performance

 New hair, old Burrow?

Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow debuted a fresh cut on Wednesday, days after a career-worst performance in Week 1 at Cleveland. We'd want to change our appearance after that stinker, too.

In Sunday's 24-3 loss, Burrow was 14-of-31 for 82 yards. Per rbsdb.com, he had the lowest expected points added per play (-0.476) among quarterbacks in Week 1.

When asked what prompted him to get a haircut, he had a simple, obvious answer.

The Bengals hope Burrow's tight cut — which more closely resembles his look when leading Cincy to Super Bowl LVI — leads to better results than this past Sunday.

Cincinnati plays its second consecutive divisional game to begin the season in Week 2, at home against Baltimore.

The Ravens (1-0) have their own wrinkles to iron out after Lamar Jackson's less-than-stellar debut. In fact, the entire AFC North had a rough opening weekend as quarterbacks Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh) and Deshaun Watson (Cleveland) also failed to impress, too.

The Bengals will dig themselves an early hole with a loss, falling two games back of Baltimore — and potentially Cleveland if the Browns beat the Steelers on Monday night — two games into the season.

They'll need to rely on more than a haircut to get a win against the Ravens, but after last week's dismal showing, anything can help.

The Bengals offense needs to look a lot different than it did against Cleveland, and in that case, Burrow's off to a good start.
