Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Flacco was understandably in a great mood after leading his team to an upset win over Aaron Rodgers' Pittsburgh Steelers last night. After Flacco's big win, he had a message for the future Hall of Famer.
Cameras caught the two men shaking hands and embracing after Cincy's 33-31 win. Flacco could be heard telling Rodgers "I think this is the first time I got."

He's not wrong. Believe it or not, despite the two men becoming starting QBs in 2008, they only crossed paths a few times and Rodgers got the better of him in all of their prior meetings.
Flacco is just 2-4 all time against the Green Bay Packers, and Rodgers wasn't the QB in either instance where he beat them. Rodgers was on injured reserve for the New York Jets when Flacco beat them in 2023 as well.
So after 17 years, Flacco finally got a win over one of the few NFL legends he faced but could never quite beat.
Confidence is certainly going to feel a lot higher after that win over the Steelers. While many may dismiss it as a win over a bad defense, a win is a win and the Bengals need every one they can get their hands on while they eagerly await starting QB Joe Burrow to recover from his injury.
If Flacco can just keep the Bengals close to .500 until Burrow returns, they might be able to make a run late in the year and be in playoff contention by the end of the season.
Looking at their schedule, it's certainly doable.
Next week - fresh off some extra rest - they get the winless Jets, followed by the Chicago Bears before their bye. Things get tricky after the bye as they get a rematch against the Steelers on the road, followed by the surging New England Patriots and then a brutal gauntlet of the Baltimore Ravens (on the road on Thanksgiving night), at the Buffalo Bills and then the Ravens again.
Suffice it to say, the Bengals would probably prefer having Burrow back under center sooner rather than later, no matter how good Flacco is playing right now.
