John Harbaugh knows Ravens might move on from him

John Harbaugh has been in charge of the Baltimore Ravens for 18 years now. He's had a winning record in 15 of those seasons, and he also has one Super Bowl ring under his belt.

Nevertheless, this is a ruthless business, and it's never about what you did in the past but about what you're doing now. That's why, after blowing his eighth double-digit lead in the past four years and setting a new franchise worst with six home losses, he might be coaching for his job in the final two games of the season.

When asked about that, Harbaugh resorted to the adage of focusing on the task at hand and controlling what you can control.

John Harbaugh knows he might be on the hot seat

"My focus has been for the last 18 years here and the last 41 years in coaching is to try to do the best job I can today and fight as hard as I can so the guys have the best chance to be successful today," Harbaugh told the media. "Anything after today, I’m not thinking about because it’s not given for us to think about. We don’t have control over that, except for the job we do today. And if we do a good enough job today, then the opportunity to do that job or a different job will be there tomorrow. And that’s what you hope for."

Harbaugh is clearly a proven winner in the NFL, and he's earned the benefit of the doubt in Baltimore. That being said, the Ravens have been a Super Bowl contender for a long time, yet they haven't been to the final game of the season in the Lamar Jackson era.

Harbaugh has failed to fix the defense since Mike Macdonald left, and all the blown leads and lack of consistency have hurt this team way too often in recent years. They have a top-five quarterback in the game, and with another disappointing campaign, everything should be on the table in Maryland.
