Say whatever you want about what Jordan Love's 2024 season looked like. There were the injuries, the wide receiver mistakes , individual problems, and an underwhelming team result by the end of the season. But even with all these considerations, the Green Bay Packers have good reasons to be elated about what their young quarterback has done in the NFL.
And this is clear if you look at some advanced stats. Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky shared one specific stat that will make you rethink your perception of Love's performance.

Only five quarterbacks in the entire NFL finished in the top 10 in QBR in each of the past two years. Jordan Love is there, and the company is the best you could hope for: Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Brock Purdy. There are three MVPs in there, and Purdy who is helped by a top playcaller in Kyle Shanahan and an insanely talented offense — and still got paid $53 million a year.
he fact that Love is among these quarterbacks even with all the problems he had in 2024 shows how high his ceiling is and can be.
"There's a narrative out there, for whatever reason, that he wasn't as productive as the year before," head coach Matt LaFleur said last week. "Well, he missed significant time. He missed the better of three games. It was Indy, Tennessee, he went out in Jacksonville, and then he went out in Chicago. Three games is a significant amount of time, and you're not gonna produce as much from a numbers perspective. And let's be honest, I mean, we did have a lot of drops last year, there are other circumstances that play into it. All in all, I think everybody is gonna be better, though."
The big things for Jordan Love this year are the ability to get healthy the whole year and get more help from his weapons, especially after the Packers took Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the draft. For LaFleur, Love's impact on and off the field is much clearer now, with two starting seasons under his belt.
"Obviously, he's played a lot of ball and along with that, has gained a lot of confidence," LaFleur added. "He's certainly comfortable in helping lead others and telling them what to do. He's a coach on the field. He knows this offense as well as anybody in regards to the details and what we're trying to get accomplished, and I think that he articulates that well to the other players."
It's still early in the process, but it's possible to see that in the Packers offseason program. On Tuesday, he completed six of seven passes for 75 yards, and a touchdown and the two-point conversion only on the two-minute drive.
All reports from OTAs indicate a quarterback much more comfortable, who looks like a real veteran. Despite the narratives, the Packers are getting everything they could hope for from their quarterback.
