Josh Allen’s NFL career is nowhere near finished, but he is already giving a bit of thought to what he might do once it’s over.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback admitted he has already considered potentially going into broadcasting once his playing career is over. He did, however, express some concern about having to be too critical of players.
“I do think it would be cool if you can keep it from a strictly broadcasting angle,” Allen said, via Alex Sherman of CNBC. “When players go from players to journalists and say certain things that they hated people saying about them, I think that’s where it gets a little murky for me. But, I do think that it would be something I would entertain. I can’t say for sure, ‘yes’ or for sure ‘no’ right now, because I do go back and forth on it. But yeah, I’d have to put some more thought into it.”
Both Tony Romo and Tom Brady have followed the quarterback-to-broadcaster pipeline, albeit to somewhat mixed reviews. Networks would want to see whether he can analyze and explain complex concepts as they happen.
This is all a long way off. Allen only just turned 30 in May, and while there is certainly good money in broadcasting, he is making plenty as a quarterback as well.
