When it rains, it pours for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Not only did his team fall in a heartbreaking fashion to the Denver Broncos, but he may now have to go under the knife.

According to a report by ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Allen is dealing with a right foot injury. The team didn’t share a timeline for a potential surgery or recovery. At least, he’s expected to be back in time for OTAs:

“Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen might need to undergo right foot surgery, but general manager and president of football operations Brandon Beane cautioned Wednesday that a procedure would not affect Allen’s availability for organized team activities in the offseason,” Schefter wrote.

Allen was dealing with the injury before the start of the playoffs. Then, he also hurt his finger and knee:

“Allen initially hurt the foot in a Week 16 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The soreness lingered for weeks afterward, and Allen developed issues with his left knee and right finger in Buffalo’s wild-card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars,” he added.

Allen is a tough player, and he’s not going to miss time unless he absolutely has to. Fortunately, he’ll have more than enough time to address these issues.

It’s been a tumultuous couple of days for the Buffalo Bills. They just fired head coach Sean McDermott, and their final press conference of the season was pretty incendiary.

Team owner Terry Pagula threw Keon Coleman and the coaching staff under the bus. Then, he explained that he promoted Beane to President of Football Operations because he drafted Josh Allen:

“That was my decision. I could be wrong, but it was success with the players. I don’t know if anybody knows it in this room, but Josh Allen wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for this guy,” Pegula said, per The Athletic, “pushing and pushing and pulling a Houdini in that draft to get to a position where we could pick him. So that was my decision.”

While Allen is the face of the franchise and one of the best players in Bills history, that may have been Beane’s only hit.

His track record in the NFL Draft has left plenty to be desired. Also, his inability to give his star quarterback the weapons he needs might continue to hunt this team in the playoffs every year.
