Julian Edelman confirms he won't come out of retirement to join Buccaneers

Earlier in the week, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady joked that former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who recently announced his retirement, wants to join him in Tampa Bay.

Edelman responded to Brady on Sunday with a simple tweet that showed his dedication to the Patriots organization (Warning: Some inappropriate language is used in the video):

Brady and Edelman played together from 2009 to 2019 before the quarterback left for Tampa Bay. Edelman played in only six games in 2020 due to injury before announcing his retirement on April 12.

The soon-to-be 35-year-old won three Super Bowls with Brady. It would be hard for him to join the Bucs and compete for his fourth title with an already-loaded receiving group of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and Scotty Miller.

Edelman also recently said on Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take" podcast that he had no problem retiring from the NFL because he "enjoyed" the time that he spent in the league. So, fans hoping for a Brady-Edelman reunion appear to be out of luck.
