When he's not throwing touchdowns or slinging passes down the field, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert can be found partaking in one of his hobbies, fishing.
In a recent interview with Chase Daniel and Trey Wingo on the latter's YouTube channel, Herbert explains why fishing appeals to him.
"I think it's kind of relaxing, I think it's a true skilled sport. You have to know what you're doing or you're not gonna catch anything."

He continued to share that his favorite kind of fishing is deep-sea fishing, which he was also involved in back when he lived in Oregon. While growing up in Oregon, Herbert was the president of the Sheldon High School fishing club, and co-founded the club with a classmate.

His fishing hobby has continued into adulthood as well. Herbert took part in last year's Sports Fishing Championship Tournament in Miami known as "The Catch."
On the same team as division rival and Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, Herbert and Jones finished second with ten catches.
