The Baltimore Ravens have released Justin Tucker, the team announced on Monday. View the organization’s official statement below.

Justin Tucker Released

The Ravens cut ties with Tucker after 13 seasons.

“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances,” General Manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker. Justin created many significant and unforgettable moments in Ravens’ history. His reliability, focus, drive, resilience, and extraordinary talent made him one of the league’s best kickers for over a decade.

“We are grateful for Justin’s many contributions while playing for the Ravens. We sincerely wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter of their lives.”

The Ravens signed Tucker as an undrafted free agent in 2012.

Tucker, 35, is a five-time First-team All-Pro and three-time Second-team All-Pro. Tucker also made seven Pro Bowls and the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team.

Tucker was a member of the Ravens’ Super Bowl-winning team in 2013.

Tucker has the highest field goal percentage (89.1%, minimum of 100 attempts) in NFL history.

Tucker is coming off his worst season as a professional, making 73.3% (22/30), the lowest percentage of his career.

Because of Tucker’s struggles, the Ravens drafted kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round, fueling speculation that Baltimore would move on from their 13-year veteran.

Justin Tucker Has Been Accused Of Misconduct

The Ravens claim this decision was a “football decision.” However, Tucker is currently being investigated by the NFL for sexual misconduct.

Tucker has been accused of inappropriate behavior by 16 massage therapists from eight different spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area.

All of these allegations reportedly happened between 2012 and 2016.

Tucker has disputed the allegations twice.

Two months ago, the Ravens said they would decide on Tucker after the NFL finished its investigation, which remains ongoing.
