Travis Kelce had an eventful day in Brazil, where the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday to kick off their 2025 NFL season.
It's not all good for Kelce, though, as he was directly involved in causing an injury to teammate Xavier Worthy after they collided. Not to mention that the Chiefs tight end was also smacked in the head by Chargers defensive tackle Teair Tart in the third quarter of the game. Kansas City ended up losing its season opener, 27-21.
However, the 35-year-old had his moment early in the fourth quarter. Kelce received a pass from Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs were trailing 20-12 and proceeded to score a 37-yard touchdown run.
It was only Kelce's second catch of the day after struggling early, and his first touchdown of the game. He eventually finished with two catches for 47 yards and one touchdown.
Following his score, the Chiefs were quick to celebrate as well. On social media, the team even gave him a new nickname: "MR. WORLDWIDE."
While rapper Pitbull might have an issue with the Chiefs giving his popular nickname to Travis Kelce during the game in Brazil, it's not hard to see why the team gave him that name.
There's no denying that Kelce is one of the most popular players in the NFL today. One could even argue that he's the most popular, especially after his engagement to global music superstar Taylor Swift.
Kelce is already widely known in his own right as a three-time Super Bowl champion and 10-time Pro Bowler, but his relationship with Swift has certainly taken his fame to new heights.
