The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the following players as their team captains for the 2024 Playoffs.

The surprise on that list is definitely Winchester, but make no mistake, he deserves it. Long snapper is an underappreciated position, and he is one of the best there is. He also plays on the kickoff coverage unit and racked up three tackles in 2024. Winchester is a 12-year NFL veteran who has been with the Chiefs since 2015.

The others are players who you would expect to be captains for Kansas City during the most important time of the year. Each of them are proven veterans who have played crucial roles in the team's postseason success over the past several seasons. The journey to a third straight championship win begins on Saturday against the Houston Texans in the divisional round.

The Chiefs are undefeated in the divisional round with Mahomes as their starting quarterback. If they advance, they will play either the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. The remaining NFC teams that K.C. could face in the Super Bowl are the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, and Detroit Lions.

If the Chiefs go all the way, they will become the first team in NFL history to ever win three Super Bowls in a row. It would be their fourth in six years, and fifth in franchise history.
