Kenny Pickett shares key to successful Steelers offense

Most believe that much of Pittsburgh's success will be determined on how Pickett plays in year two. Although that isn't untrue, Pickett won't be the only one to blame if things get off to a rocky start.

Offensive coordinator Matt Canada certainly has a lot to prove, especially with the added talent to the team's offense this offseason. If he can't help the offense go, his time with the Steelers will come to an end.

In 2022, Pittsburgh finished as the sixth-worst team in points per game (18.1) and 10th-worst in yards per game (322.6). Those numbers must improve for the Steelers to have the season they're hoping for in 2023.

One way to potentially improve is by giving Pickett more control of the offense. He wasn't given the ability to change the call at the line of scrimmage as a rookie but seems to have been given some more ownership of the offense heading into his second season.

"I think I was part of a good process of adding some things this offseason," Pickett added. "I feel like I've been a part of those conversations. So, I think when the game plan starts coming around, I'll have an input as well."

Pittsburgh's offense will be one of the more interesting storylines to watch throughout the season with a big year ahead for both Pickett and Canada.
