Week 11 brings us an NFC Matchup between the (5-3-1)Green Bay Packers @ the (2-8)New York Giants. The Giants just fired their head coach Brian Daboll and have turned to Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. In Green Bay fans are calling for their own coach Matt Lafleur’s head. The Packers need a get right game, will Week 11 finally be it? Let’s take a look into the key matchups in Green Bay @ New York.
In our first key matchups in Green Bay @ New York, we have Josh Jacobs vs the Giants defense. It is no secret that the Green Bay Packers have been struggling running the ball in 2025. Losing Elgton Jenkins may not make that job any easier. The Packers struggle mightily on 1st down running the ball as they are ranked 25th and 26th in the league at success rate and yards per carry. Luckily for the Packers the Giants weakest part of their defense is vs the run. New York is ranked 31st in the NFL allowing 150 rushing yards per week. If there were ever a time for Josh Jacobs and this offense to get some traction running the ball, now is the time. The Packers can’t afford another loss if they have any hopes of reaching the playoffs this year.
Eli Berkovits a writer from @247Sports and @PackerReport66 posted a tweet about the Giants defense against the run in 2025 below:
The Giants have allowed over 1,500 yards and 14 rushing TDs in 10 games this year…

If the #Packers can't get the run going this week it may be over.

Second of our key matchups in Green Bay @ New York, is the Packers offensive line vs the Giants pass rush. The Packers banged up offensive line needs to show up if they have any chance of escaping New York with a win. The Giants pass rush is with out a doubt the strength of their team. They pressure the quarterback at a very high rate between their 4 studs – Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, and Dexter Lawerence. Between the 4 of them they have 76 pressures in 2025. Green Bay ranks 24th in the NFL allowing a 19% pressure rate. If the offensive line can’t put together a decent performance protecting Jordan Love, it could be another long night for the Packers offense.
Last of our key matchups in Green Bay @ New York is the Packers vs themselves. Self inflicted wounds have been killing the team, and there is no shortage of blame to go around. Whether it is senseless penalties or coaching blunders, the mistakes seem to be the number 1 thing holding the Packers back. Multiple false starts on 4th and 1 cost the Packers on two separate occasions on Monday night. Illegal formation penalties killing a would be scoring drive. We can’t keep making the excuse that they are the youngest team in the NFL. They have had more than enough time together to gel and cut out these mistakes. At some point the blame is just going to be thrown directly at Lafleur(as we’ve seen). One of the biggest mistakes that has cost the Packers this year is Lafleur and Bisaccia’s decision to keep playing Kicker Brandon McManus. On numerous occasions the Packers kicker has hinted that he is not fully healthy. Yet the Packers seem just fine trotting out a less than healthy kicker while their other kicker on their roster is 11/11. This decision has cost the Packers minimally 3 games this year. Can this Packers team get out of their own way and allow them to get back on the winning track?
