King of Props: Former backup has seized opportunity

Battling for NFC West supremacy in recent years, the Rams and 49ers have become very familiar foes. They played each other three times last season, with San Francisco taking both regular-season meetings before getting bested in the conference championship. The subject of tonight’s prop was inactive for that game due to an ankle injury, but we expect him to be a factor at Levi’s Stadium tonight:

The bet: Over 10½ receiving yards for Jeff Wilson Jr. (DraftKings)

Undrafted out of North Texas, where he caught 53 passes over his junior and senior seasons, Wilson has had to work hard to sustain a pro career. He began this year backing up Elijah Mitchell, who suffered a sprained MCL in the opener. A subsequent injury to rookie Tyrion Davis-Price has resulted in Wilson getting a full workload.

As the starter in Weeks 2 and 3, Wilson posted receiving totals of 19 and 33 yards. He benefits from playing with reinstalled quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who was sacked four times last week and will be looking to get the ball out quickly against Aaron Donald and the fierce Los Angeles pass rush.

Three running backs — Zack Moss and Devin Singletary of the Bills and James Conner of the Cardinals — have exceeded this number in games against the Rams so far this season. Wilson is a good bet to make it four.
