King of Props: Kirk will be enterprising

The 7-9 Titans can boldly go where no AFC South team has gone before – to the playoffs despite a losing record. Meanwhile, the 8-8 Jaguars have an opportunity to finish the season above .500 for just the second time in 15 years. When these teams clash for the division title on Saturday night in Jacksonville, we like a captain for the home side to find his favorite target enough to deliver our top prop:

The bet: Over 4½ receptions for Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (FanDuel)

After four productive seasons with the Cardinals, Kirk signed on to catch passes from former No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence and has already achieved career highs across the board. He enters this game with 78 receptions for 1,009 yards and seven touchdowns.

In a 31-3 drubbing of the Texans last Sunday, Kirk played a minimal role because the Jaguars dominated on the ground and were mainly trying to stay healthy for this week’s showdown. But Lawrence threw to him at least six times in each of the previous nine games. That trend figures to resume against the Titans, who boast the second-best run defense but allow a league-worst 279 yards per game through the air.

Beyond helping his team advance to the postseason, Kirk has the added motivation of contract incentives. While the $500,000 he’ll get for 80 receptions seems assured, he can make that amount again for 10 additional catches and for reaching 1,100 receiving yards.

With Lawrence at the controls and Kirk finding open space, resistance is futile.
