Through the first 15 games of the regular season, no NFC South Team has managed to compile a winning record. The 7-8 Buccaneers can clinch the division and ensure a home playoff game by defeating the 6-9 Panthers this afternoon, but failing to do so means there are no assurances that Tom Brady plays at Raymond James Stadium again. As the GOAT looks to add to his legacy, we’re backing one of his newer targets for our top prop:
The bet: Over 26½ receiving yards for Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (FanDuel)
Having cashed recent tickets on yardage overs for Chig Okonkwo, Greg Dulcich, and Jelani Woods, we turn to yet another rookie tight end in Otton. Tampa Bay made him a fourth-round pick after a 31-game career of modest production at Washington.
Otton has already posted more receiving yards this season (369) than he did in any year of college (high of 344 as a sophomore). Becoming the Bucs’ primary tight end, he drew seven targets in last week’s win over the Cardinals and ran 35 more pass routes than former starter Cameron Brate did. He has clearly earned the trust of Brady, who has thrown to him 23 times over the last month.
When the Bucs faced the Panthers in Week 7, Otton had one of his best games of the season, catching four passes for 64 yards. He merely needs to approach half of that production in today’s crucial contest to deliver our first winner of the New Year.
