There are very few things in this world where so many people can manage to collectively drop the gloves and find some true common ground.
One of the greatest examples of that happening, whether on social media or in real life, is the presence of a dog—or dogs.
The recent passing of Kirk Herbstreit’s beloved Golden Retriever, Ben, has served as a great example where seemingly just about anyone aware of the story had something positive to share.
An internet rarity, for sure.
We even reached the point where an NFL franchise took some time to pay tribute to the passing of the always affable Ben.
While the ESPN analyst is likely still processing the loss, the good news—for both Herbstreit and anyone who follows him on X—is that he happens to own a lot of dogs.
On Wednesday, Herbstreit offered up an adorable, nearly 90-second "postwalk press conference" for his followers:
Not the same without our Ben but the boys still love taking their walks every day. Favorite time of the day. Good effort today by the ballclub. pic.twitter.com/I45WeCfi9l

And really, this is about as official as it gets when it comes to a post-walk review involving three dogs happily resting in the back of a Ford F-150 Raptor.
"Good walk, guys," Herbstreit began. "Hey Pete, good job bud. Good job out there today."
Pete, as expected, responded with a wag of the tail.
When Herbstreit then called upon the attention of Mitch—three times, to be exact—the 100% sincere expression on the dog's face at the 14-second mark kind of sums up what tends to make dogs so incredibly comforting and endearing.
The 55-year-old college football guru wasn't even a minute into the clip when he turned his attention to Theo, the last dog of the trio, to give him props for "leading the ball club today" despite apparently getting a little up there in age.
According to Herbstreit, the next time this savvy squad heads out for a walk, "it's really all about the deer, the chipmunks, and the squirrels."
Yes, it's always good to have goals and this is quite the range in "obtainability."
Finally, when one takes into account some of the uneasy, downright chaotic press conferences we've witnessed over the years, the soothing vibes and visible chemistry on display here was impeccable.
Looking forward to the next one, Herbie.
